After just a year in retirement extreme enduo legend Taddy Blazusiak has decided he jumped too soon – so now's he's back

Taddy Blaziusiak is back! The Polish extreme enduro superstar – six-times a superenduro world champion - retired in December 2016, citing 'burn-out' as his reason to hang up his boots. Only it turns out he loves his riding too much – something we can all relate to – and after a year out the persoanbale Blazusiak is coming back.

Blazusiak didn't actually stop riding in 2017, he simply stopped competing, maintaining his links with his sponsors and team (Red Bull / KTM) and he was a riding-mentor to Jonny Walker for much of the year too. The guy is of course an immensely talented rider, but here at RUST we appreciate his passion too, he simply loves his riding, and he's able to share and express that in the most engaging and entertaining way. He's a crowd favourite for a reason. And it's a good thing for enduro that he's back. Here's what he's had to say...

Blazusiak: “It’s really exciting for me to return to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team. My retirement might seem a little short lived, but 2018 is going to be a new chapter in my career. When I stopped racing at the end of last winter’s SuperEnduro series I didn’t think I'd ride a bike again. I was burned out. Racing professionally is tough and I hadn’t stopped for more than 10 years, racing in both Europe and the States. But two months after I stopped I was back riding, and really enjoying it. I kept riding – riding different tracks, riding with different people, even going to some events, and it became clear that I still loved riding and that I wanted to race again. That added to the fact I’m super motivated by what’s planned for 2018 is why I’m returning to competition.
